The most critical aspect of treating whiplash is an in-depth examination to determine the extent of the damage. A set of neck x-rays will usually be necessary to visualize any damage to the spinal joints, including a non-invasive nerve scan to determine if any nerves are pinched or irritated. Once any major damage is ruled out we begin with QSM3 chiropractic protocols which seek to correctly align the head over the neck, supporting a normal neck curve, and taking pressure off of the joints and nerves. There many also be segmental adjustments of any joints in the neck that remain stuck after postural decompression, to ensure proper motion and joint integrity throughout the whole neck, allowing the soft tissue and joints to heal and pain to subside.
